Mains Hall is an old Manor House that is steeped in history, myth and local legend. Reputedly it is circa 16th century but recent research has suggested that there has been a manor on this site since the medieval times and possibly earlier.
Refurbishment & Other News
Mains Hall is a Grade II listed manor house within a SSSI [Site of Special Scientific Interest and Conservation area]. We are ever mindful therefore, that we should continue to preserve the old Hall in the best possible way, in order that future generations will be able to enjoy this rare building on the Fylde Coast.
In the future we would like to be able to open up Mains Hall to the general public, so they can also enjoy the historic importance of this fine Tudor gem.
Thanks to everyone who came along to our Paranormal Nights in 2006 and to those investigation teams we have had here too. As we are now undergoing [once again!] major refurbishment from now until the end of 2007, we have postponed any further Paranormal Nights and private investigations. A huge thank you to Jason Karl, and all at JKGRFI whose help and advice on all aspects of the paranormal have been invaluable....and we had fun too!
We plan to repair/restore the attic areas, re-instate a new staircase in the west wing, renovate the old kitchen area and refurbish some of the lower ground floor rooms. We will be uncovering two more recently discovered priest hides and at long last, and after many decades of speculation...we are endeavouring to uncover the tunnels we know are here beneath the Hall...watch this space!
